The future of championship golf in Pakistan is taking shape at Capital Hills Golf and Country Club, where Harradine Golf is crafting an 18-hole course in the Capital Smart City development near Islamabad. Scheduled to open its first nine holes in April 2026, the course blends breathtaking terrain with two of the world’s most trusted turfgrass varieties—Pure Dynasty® Seeded Paspalum and Platinum TE® Paspalum—supplied by Atlas Turf International and Pure Seed.
In a recent Golf Course Architecture article, architect Peter Harradine described his amazement when first visiting the site. With a full palette of geographical features, including rock formations, multiple lakes, and the valleys and crests of 30-meter elevation changes, the course is one that Harradine believes is ideal for the blending of golf and nature.

After a detailed study of the region’s conditions—hot summers, monsoon rains, and variable water quality—Harradine selected Platinum TE for the greens and Pure Dynasty for the rest of the course. Having used both varieties on previous projects, Harradine is very familiar with the qualities of each turfgrass.
“We chose Platinum TE and Pure Dynasty because we were sure that they were ideal for those conditions and climate,” Harradine said.

Pure Dynasty Seeded Paspalum offers dense, fine-textured fairways with exceptional salt tolerance, drought resistance, and resilience against wear. Its ability to maintain consistent playability in varying conditions makes it a favorite for high-profile projects worldwide. Platinum TE Paspalum, with its ultra-smooth putting surface and striking dark-green color, is the elite choice for greens, delivering tour-quality speed and trueness in even the most demanding climates.
Together, these two paspalum varieties will provide year-round performance, reduce inputs, and create an unforgettable playing experience for golfers of all levels.
Capital Hills will feature multiple teeing options, strategic bailout areas, and dramatic elevated tees offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Designed to challenge and inspire, the course is expected to become one of the premier golf destinations in South Asia—welcoming the Pakistani golfing community and the global diaspora.
With the first nine holes opening in 2026 and the full 18 by 2028, Capital Hills Golf and Country Club is set to showcase not only world-class course design but also the unbeatable performance of Pure Dynasty and Platinum TE Paspalum.
